What is User Research?
User research is the process of gathering insights about users’ needs, behaviors, and preferences to inform design decisions. It involves various methods such as interviews, surveys, usability tests, and observations to understand how users interact with a product and what they expect from it.
Types of User Research:
- Qualitative Research: In-depth studies, such as interviews and observations, that explore user motivations and behaviors.
- Quantitative Research: Data-driven methods, like surveys and analytics, that provide measurable insights into user patterns and preferences.
By conducting user research, designers can create products that are more aligned with user needs, leading to better usability and overall user satisfaction.
